I’ve been testing the ASUS ROG Ally X Xbox Edition for the past few months as a longtime Steam Deck OLED user… and I have thoughts.

The hardware is genuinely amazing — powerful performance, premium feel, excellent ergonomics — but Windows continues to hold handheld gaming PCs back in ways that are hard to ignore.
